yeah we call them earings what supports the springs.
Listen i was adviced to not replace a earing with more than 3 cm's that the original size (in the front) cause is going to brake more easily the pring leaf besides the driving will become unstable, and the turning will block.
I was told by a specialist and i have a long chassis so believe that me more than anyone need's to gain some ground clearance.
I have 235/85r16 for offroad conditions = as 31 tyres and it is already touching the wheel base on top, so i was also adviced to replace a bigger stop axle/chassis so that the weel wont touch the wheeel plating.
Than dont forget that the shock absorbers will need to grow also.
