I am one of the very few Owners of a UMM Alter here in Germany.

And I need to get parts. Parts for steering, springs, brake.

I would be very lucky to get some Adresses.

Because everyone I asked here in Germany is only wondering about this Car.

Its an 8/1986 UMM Alter, short wheel base, 2,5L 56kw, with Hardtop.

I am happy about anything you can tell me about!:)

Greetings from Lübeck, Germany

Hi Sebastian

Welcome to this Forumm!

we are pleased knowing that there are some Umms in Germany!

You can make your presentation here:
http://forumm.forumco.com/forum~FORUM_ID~1

and your UMM here, with some pictures we hope :):
https://for-umm.pt/forums/o-meumm.14/

The best way to get some parts for your UMM is contacting UMM factory, now called Europeças --> www.europecas.pt

UMM abraço

Hi Jagoz,

thank you for the link to www.europecas.pt .

I did send them a email with a part inquiry. I made a draw of everything I need, and I hope they can help me.

My UMM Carboy and engine is in an good condition. No Rust (imported from Portugal 2 Years ago). But the most problems I have with the steering. - Have there been UMM aLter with a servo-steering?

Is UMM still build in Portugal? The last I read about UMM is from the year 2000.

The trick with the fotos I dont understand by know....

Greetings y Disfruta el sol!

Hello and welcome
Yes there is UMM with servo steering or power steering it's the same
thing. :)
but if you want to adapt it you'll need some material like the oil pump and is fixation and also the powes steering and that may cost some large amount of €
the last UMM was the 2000
UMM abraço
Nuno

Hi,
ok, but where do i get the parts for the steering? Without servo is ok.

The mail I send to "www.europecas.pt" came back / failure.

Do you know where the steering system comes from?

The problem with my steering:

It has a point, where it is going very heavy. At this Point it seems to arrest (lock). - Its not a good feeling to drive like this and the German controllers (TÜV) dont let me drive on street like this.

So maybe I need a new steering box. Or do you know about this problem?

If someone has a good used power-steering with all components to built in, i am interested too. But it must be send to Germany.

Also, the 4 knuckles that put the steering (between the wheels) together are not ok anymore. But about this i found a dealer in Great Britan. It seems that he can send me these parts.

Mate u can fix that in a second, get a power stearing from a Merc, and get some good skilled crafsman to sort it 4 u.
I saw some Toyota with that, shure it can be put on the UMM aswell, just ask arround on ur local mechanical.

A steeing from a Mercedes Benz? wich one i could use for this.

Now i have the normal steering (not power-steering).

About the knuckles its not so easy, because they look always in there computer an if they don´t find a number there its a problem. And they told me that the knuckles often look the same, but they have to be strong enough, and this would be different from ca to car. - typical german: Thinking so much, that nothing happens....
