Hello friends,
I have a big problem and I need advice: The injection pump of my UMM (Lucas pump) loses fuel at the tin / socket You see on the photos. The socket is on the side of the pump and it can be turned with two fingers...so it is loose. I want to change to a bosch pump soon, but therefore I need to drive the car to a workshop 150 km away from here. Can I turn the tin / socket clockwise (to the right as indicated on the photos?) to seal the pump? Or does the position of the socket affect the adjustement of the pump?

Thanks and best regards,
Mooro

Hello,

My suggestion, of it's leaking and you repair in one point, soon or later will leak in another point because all the seals are damage due to the life time ands fuels.

It's better to desassamble the pump and change all the seals

Thank You for the reply! I want to buy a Bosch pump if Filipe has one (turbo UMM).
I only have to get the UMM to the workshop without losing too much fuel on the street, that's the problem.
I learned today that the piece is a magnetic valve. I turned it carefully somewhat to the right.
best regards
Mooro

Make sure it's a Bosch with a 10mm plunger... if it's not its preferable to repair yours, you can easly get a repair kit from the web and repair it, there's also a lot of youtube videos.

Also, if you are about "top speed" you are going to loose some, if it's to tow a Bosch is better, more torque in low revs.

Here's how you can read the Bosch VE reference in order to identify the plunger size.
