I'm ready to buy an UMM, for it's simplicity, it's sturdiness, it's basic outfit.
In my neighbourhood, a UMM 4x4 (1984) with a 2,3 liter Peugeot diesel, is for sale. (It's badge on the front : UMM 4x4. (without cournil)). It seems that the car is rather complete. The only drawback is the engine is not running, probably due to a broken diesel-highpressurepump.
Can anyone tell me about the reliability of the car in normal use? What are the weak points of an UMM, to examine by purchase.
Is there a large differece in dirving an UMM Cournil 2.1; UMM 4x4; UMM Alter1 or an UMM alter II; 2,5 aspirated or with turbo intercooler? (Budget is about 5.000,--)
Can anyone tell me about the availability of spare parts concerning the engine and coach? Are there some parts of a special model which is hardly to get?
